Touristinformation Blaubeuren
Karst landscape and culture
The fascinating karst morphology around the monastery town of Blaubeuren gave rise to the mythical Blautopf. The turquoise karst spring is the entrance to a gigantic cave system that is still being explored. In the URMU, the Museum of Ice Age Art, you can also admire the "Venus of Hohle Fels", the world's oldest figurative artwork, and other artefacts found in the World Heritage caves nearby.
Our info centre in Blaubeuren impressively demonstrates that geology, landscape and human culture are closely intertwined.
