Geopark Rokua / Group of students in Aalen

Since 2013 there is a partnership of the Geopark Swabian Alb with the Finnish Geopark Rokua. Both Geoparks are UNESCO Global Geoparks and know each other from the European Geopark Network.

Now thirteen students of the Muhoksen Lukio Grammar School were again for a week for the student exchange in the Schubart Grammar School in Aalen. There has been an exchange between the two Geopark schools since 2016. On June 19, 2023, the young Finns were welcomed in Aalen's town hall. Besides Frederick Brütting (Mayor of Aalen), Dr. Jana Peeters from Explorhino, a Geopark info centre, and Horst Sattler (Tourism county Ostalbkreis) were also there as representatives of the Swabian Alb Geopark. The visit of the German group of students will take place at the end of October 2023.
