Open Momument Day 2023 / Geopoint Hohle Fels was in focus

The Hohle Fels was well visited on the Open Monument Day on September 10th. The office of the UNESCO Global Geopark Swabian Alb was on site with a booth and a stone quiz and took young and old visitors on a "journey into the earth's history".

In the World Heritage Cave, 18 cave tours took place. The Schelklingen archaeologist Rudolf Walter reported on the world-famous finds and the latest status of the excavations at the Hohle Fels. He gave an impressive description of the life of the Ice Age people.
